Reflective Writing
Reflective writing is writing about something that has happened in someone's life. It is giving the reader a chance to experience parts of one's life through writing. This piece of writing should make the reader feel as if he/she were there with the writer, reliving what the writing is about. In my English 111 class, we were recently told to write a reflective paper in which we explain our positive and negative experiences with literacy.

Comparison Analysis
A comparison is comparing and contrasting different subjects. By doing this, one will find the similarities and differences between the subjects. It also helps one to identify different aspects of the topics they did not know. In this assignment we were told to pick two subjects that we were not biased on and compare and contrast them.

Position Essay
Having a position on something or a certain topic means having an opinion or taking a side for that topic. In a position essay, one writes about his or her opinion of something and gives details and examples to support their reasoning for having this opinion. In this position essay we were given a list subjects or topics, and had to decide whether we agreed or disagreed with them. Then we were told we had to write an essay opposite of what our opinion really was of one of those topics.
